What a day! I am overwhelmed with love for 3 fathers - my Dad, my husband, and my Heavenly Father. We should really celebrate our love for them EVERY day. I am blessed by all 3!! It has been neat to teach Lily about the relationship she can have with our Heavenly Father. One of my favorite verses that describes his love is in 1 John 3:1-3....here it is in the amplified version -
1SEE WHAT [an incredible] quality of love the Father has given (shown, bestowed on) us, that we should [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! The reason that the world does not know (recognize, acknowledge) us is that it does not know (recognize, acknowledge) Him.
2Beloved, we are [even here and] now God's children; it is not yet disclosed (made clear) what we shall be [hereafter], but we know that when He comes and is manifested, we shall [as God's children] resemble and be like Him, for we shall see Him just as He [really] is.
3And everyone who has this hope [resting] on Him cleanses (purifies) himself just as He is pure (chaste, undefiled, guiltless).
So, we are enjoying an afternoon at home - together! Had a great Church service this morning, yummy Thai food for lunch, a quick stop by Goodwill, a nap and now we are in our 3 corners :) Joe is watching Swamp People, Lily is watching Rapunzel and I'm blogging (for the first time in months). I was inspired by my sweet friend, Sophie, who just started a blog about her journey of faith. I'm just reminded that time flies by and moments are forgotten if I don't make notes along the way.
I want to honor Lily's Daddy in this blog post today. She is truly blessed with such a wise, gentle, loving father. Their relationship is precious and always growing. It has been a real joy to be able to see them spend so much time together and I pray she will pick up some of his "ways" along the way. Their recent endeavor has been a garden - squash, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, green beans - and we have been able to benefit from the fruits of their labor (YUM!). They do the gardening and I take the pictures :) and eat :)
