10 Months and growing

Today is a special day of reflection....as I'm blown away that another month is already gone! But, what a wonderful "Lily filled" month it has been - watching you grow and become more mobile and so very smart. When we think we can't possibly love you any more, we spend another day with you....and it happens.....we love you MORE! We admire you and we are so excited about the person you are becoming.

At 10 months {YOU}

• Weigh 19 lbs. 10 oz. and 29 1/4 in. long (at your last doctor appt. on 7/24)
• Cruise around the furniture and hold on with one hand and then let go and catch yourself with the other hand
• Get so tickled when you let go with both hands and can balance yourself (but then you fall forward into Mommy and giggle some more)
• Make a funny face (it’s hard to describe but it’s absolutely adorable….kind of a strained look with your mouth open)
• Clap when we start singing "Pat the Cake" or when we say "clap"
• Love going to the Splash Pad and when we get out of the car and you see the children playing you start squealing and reaching your arms to get there quickly
• Love going for walks (in the wrap or the stroller) and stopping by the neighbor’s house to see their dogs
• Splash water everywhere when you’re in the tub
• Make the funniest noises…..like “wa wa wa” by putting your hand over your mouth while you’re talking
• Still nurse about 4-5 times a day
• Love to go to the park and swing
• Sleep through the night (most nights) 7:30 pm – 6:00 am
• Still love to feed yourself
• Favorite foods: hummus, hummus, hummus!!
• Love to prop your legs up….when we are strolling, riding, nursing, etc.
• Are starting to identify things really well: people, toys (Elmo, ball, duck, book), animals
• Wear 12-18 months clothes
• Have a contagious laugh!
• Wave bye-bye
• Love to play the piano with Maw Maw
• Say “daddy, gigi (we think you are saying Lily), ma ma, duck, ball, kitty”
• Sing yourself to sleep (we call it your “sleepy time lullabye”)
• Started “jumping” in the exersaucer instead of just turning around in circles
• Have another tooth coming through – this will be #5
• Love playing with Blake but you always want to “get” him….pull his ears or hair, etc. (I have to keep a watchful eye on you two)
• Almost crawl by lunging forward when your sitting on your bottom
• Try to feed Daddy when he’s trying to feed you
• Love our morning routine as a family – come to bed with us and nurse but you roll over to cuddle Daddy and then back to Mommy (but always have one hand reached back to make sure Daddy is still there)
• Don’t like it when I lean you back in the bathtub to rinse your hair
• Usually take 2 naps a day (one mid-morning and one late afternoon)
• Drink from a sippy cup by yourself - you like water especially if you can drink it from a regular cup
• Love riding on the lawn mower with Daddy
• Dance sometimes when your standing by your toys and music is playing
• Smile at everyone
• Have the most beautiful eyes and skin
• Are the cutest and sweetest thing I’ve EVER seen!!!
