Food and Fun

Every day is a day of discovery of new tastes for Lily. I told you guys that she's really enjoying feeding herself so I'm trying to find finger foods that are appropriate for her age. (and b/c I have a fear that she will choke....and I will freak out :) ) The last couple of days she's been eating mango for breakfast and she likes it. She also likes dry cereal - I think it's b/c she can play with it and at times toss it on the floor. That's a fun game for her.

But even though she's eating solids she hasn't slowed down on nursing. And I have to say I enjoy the time we have together to relax and be close like that....I know those days will be over sometime soon. There's nothing better than taking a nap after nursing her....all snuggled up with that bundle of sweetness. Joe has been working in Lily's room this week (doing trim work, etc.) so it's been in disarray and difficult to get to her crib which means she's been sleeping with us. Yes, she usually ends up in the bed with us at some point every night but she always begins in her crib. But, we are ok with the arrangement...especially since my mother in law gave us her king size bed :) Just gives us more time to snuggle her. It's funny to think about the things that I said I would never do as a parent - give her a pacifier, let her sleep with us, let the animals get near her, etc.

Anyway, the weather has been beautiful here and we have enjoyed going to the park and being outside. One of Lily and her Daddy's favorite places to spend time together is out on the front porch swing....so it's been great weather for that. Here are some photos of Lily's food and fun from yesterday -
