No, not Lily :) My childhood friend Dabney is getting married in November and we are so excited for her. We've had the opportunity to get to know her fiance and we absolutely love him. It's funny how life changes and people come and go but there are those who are forever friends....who have been with you through the good and the bad and the in-between. Dabney is one of those friends to me. We became friends before I can remember because I was only a toddler when we first met. She lived next door to me all through my childhood and into those rebellious teenage years. Her family was like my family and I don't know how I would have gotten through some of those years without her. We have laughed, fought, loved, hated, cried, hugged, hit, thrown each other's baby dolls in the street, had lemonade stands, fought over boys, defended one another, shopped together, gone on vacations together, knew we had a safe place with one another when we went through times of trying to "be someone" and find our identity, played ball, went swimming, and "did life" together. And I remember us telling each other that when we got old we would "get married and live beside each other and our kids would grow up together." Ok, so maybe things didn't turn out as we planned :) but God is good and has sustained and kept our friendship over the years. And when we get to see each other or have times to talk and catch up it's a good thing. I pray Lily will have forever friends....what a blessing!
