- At "15 month" checkup on Friday she weighs 23 lbs. and is 34 in. long. (she is at 50% on the growth chart for weight and is off the chart for her height)
- Good eater (depending on the day :) )and likes to feed herself. A few of her favorite foods: cheese toast, blueberries, pancakes, "dip" (ranch dressing or ketchup), beans, apples, mandarin oranges, cucumbers; there were several days that broccoli was her favorite!
- All bears are called "Pooh", everything Sesame Street is called "Ernie", and all her clothing is "G.G's" (that's a cute story - one night when I was putting her pj's on I said "Lily, these are G.G.'s pajamas and she gave them to you." And when we went into the living room her Daddy said "Oh, those are pretty pajamas." Lily said "these G.G.'s" So, if you ask her about any of her clothing....she says it's G.G.'s :)
- Loves to "mother" her babies - putting them in the swing and covering them up and take them out and put them back in....etc. :)
- One of her favorite toys is a giant sized Elmo (it's about as tall as she is) and she carries him around everywhere....talking to him as she goes
- Nana is sure that Lily has an imaginary friend that she plays with and we are beginning to believe that too
- LOVES to be outside and play in the dirt, leaves, sand, grass. We were outside a few days ago and you could barely hear a train in the distance and she raised up from playing in the dirt and did her "surprised look" and said "choo choo". I'm amazed at all the sounds she picks up on....always notices the airplanes, trucks, birds, etc.
- When we go to Walmart she has to point out everything she sees “hat, apple, ish (fish), bawoon (balloon), ball" and she has to tell everyone "hey"
- Recently she said “T.D. (T.V.)” and I said “ok” and I was looking around for the remote and she said “mote” and I said I’m looking for it and she said “cowsh (couch) ” and I looked up and the remote was on the back of the couch!!
- Her favorite shows are: Yo Gabba Gabba, Wonder Pets, and "Ernie" (Sesame Street)
- Recent conversation: me: “let me take your temperature” Lily: “temp” me: "it's 99.6" Lily (takes the thermometer and puts in on her forehead and then looks at the screen): "nine, ten"
- When you ask her how many (of anything) that she has of something it's always "two" (and when she has a snack she always has to have "two" - one for each hand)
- Favorite book: Mr. Brown can Moo by Dr. Seuss and she makes all the sounds as we turn the pages “moo, buzz, boom, pop, klop, dopp dopp….” and Goodnight Gorilla
- Loves to watch Utube with Daddy and she tells him which one she wants to watch: "E-Ya-Yo" (Old McDonald); Elmo; ABC .....(even knows how to help him press control and move the mouse to make it start)
- Some of her words: "huddy" (hurry), "come on Mommy", "Bible", “dump” (jump), "shou-doe" (flower), "el pane" (airplane), "o tay" (okay), "eddy" (ready), "teeth", "pebble" (pillow), "all gone", "chuch" (church), "apple", "schwim" (swim), "schnow" (snow), "atside" (outside).....and I'll have to post some of the others later....I just draw a blank when I'm trying to think of ALL the words she uses. I'm really amazed at her communication skills....guess she takes after her Mommy - a real talker :)
- I told her that the baby was at home sick and wasn't coming over one day last week. Well, a couple of days later she woke up and we were cuddling in the bed and she said "baby, home, sick"
- Insists on taking her shoes and socks off EVERY time we put her in the car seat
- When she does something she's not supposed to do she says "uh oh". She knows she is not supposed to kick but sometimes when I'm changing her diaper she'll start to kick me and then she'll put her hand on my arm and say "pat pat Mommy" and I'll say "Lily, don't kick Mommy" and she pats her leg and says "pank, pank"
- She can say ABC....and when she's putting the magnet letters on the refrigerator she says something like "a, d, e, b, c, b, a"
- When we sit down for dinner she reaches out her hands and says "pay" (pray)
- When I tell her we are going to see Blake or Luke (friends from Church) she starts making the noises that they make - Blake (Yeak!) and Luke (Rrrrraaahhh)
- Loves to play hide and seek and she says "come signed me" (come find me)
- Can make all the movements (clap your hands, pat your leg, touch your nose, say amen, raise your arms, etc.) for If You're Happy and You Know It - this is great when she's fussy and we are driving in the car (great distraction!)
- She likes to dance to the music that some of her toys make and she pushes the button through the songs until it lands on her favorites
- I told her the other day that she has a bad cough and she said "baby sick"
- In the past week she has started playing by herself alot more and it is so cute to watch her! Last night she put on a pair of Daddy's glasses and kept walking up to the mirror with them on saying "hey honey, hey you, hey...."
- When she puts on any pair of glasses she says "cool"
- Loves to color
- I'm praying that life doesn't get so "busy" that I don't take time every day to be thankful for these precious moments with our girl. The first 16 months have been amazing and we look forward to the ones to come.
she loves playing with "Naaman" "Kitty" (especially when she sneaks when we are not watching and pulls his tail! I'm glad he is so tolerant and patient with Lily :) )
Her hair is really growing out and I simply love those curls!
