Just wanted to give you an update on what's going on with our girl lately. She has been making great "strides." For the past
couple of months she's been taking a few steps on her own but it's been when we are close by and she knows we are going to catch her. Well, for the past 2 days she has been standing up by herself in the middle of the floor (without pulling up on anything) and walking around more and more. It makes me a little nervous when we are outside on the concrete but I know she has to grow up and I don't need to be so protective. She is also cutting 4 teeth at the same time so we've had several sleepless, wakeful nights. I thought she was catching a cold b/c she was running a low grade fever but after talking the doctor's office they were pretty certain that it was just from teething. That night when I was brushing her teeth I did an examination to see what was going on (which is a big challenge b/c she bites me when I do that) and sure enough she has 4 teeth coming through and a couple of them are said to be the most painful ones for babies. She's talking like you wouldn't believe! Some words are recognizable "ga ga" means glasses, "moon", "toes", and she'll look at you as if she's having a conversation - a string of unrecognizable "words" - and then look to see what your response is.
I just have to share this story - She has been fascinated with the moon lately. And she's sure that her Daddy can go get it for her :) So, this morning we were outside and she's saying "moon" and pointing in the sky and her Daddy is saying "no, there's no moon in the daytime." And just as he said that he looked up where she was pointing and sure enough, there it was. We are pretty sure she's a genius :)
Mommy gave her the first haircut. That was quite the challenge too!
