Thankful

My friend, Daisy, has been talking about "thankfulness" in her blog for the past few days and it has made me more conscious of my own heart.....do I pass by God's blessings daily and not stop and thank Him for them? Oh, there are so many - big things and small things. And as you know, Lily has brought a whole new world of things I'm thankful for. Here are a just a few things that come to mind that I'm thankful for on a regular basis:
  • friends who encourage me in my walk with Jesus (rebuking me when necessary)
  • having a healthy baby
  • "Lily smiles" that are reserved just for Mommy
  • my husband can fix just about anything (which I'm sure saves us lots of money)
  • he also cuts the lawn (I've never been on the lawn mower since we've been married) and he kills bugs and spiders when I'm freaking out about one
  • seeing the birds and bunnies in our yard when I wake up in the morning
  • nights when Lily sleeps through the night
  • having a good Church where the Word of God is taught and discipleship is very important
  • friends who let me borrow baby gear or those who give Lily hand-me-downs (like my sweet friend, Kristi, who packed up 3 big boxes of clothes while we were there visiting) :)

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Phil. 4:6-7

"Do not worry then, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear for clothing?' For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matt. 6:31-34
