Stumbling

Well, she had her first bad fall yesterday. I know there will be many more to come but I don't think I'll get used to them. She is at the stage where she insists on walking or standing up and sometimes she loses her balance and topples over. Usually she just lands on the carpet or on some pillows that we've put down for her but this time she fell forward onto a box of toys. Can you spot the war wound in the photo? Babies have such durable skin that it's already gone today. Here's a tip for injuries - my friend told me that olive oil works really well on places that may bruise.

In all the walking and stumbling God spoke to my heart about my own walk with Him. Just like when Lily is sticking close to me I am able to catch her when she starts to fall. She also has more confidence to take "steps" when she knows I'm near. In my own life when I am trusting and walking in an intimate way with Jesus....He keeps me (empowers me by His Spirit) from stumbling and He leads me to take steps of faith. Through His strength I have the confidence to move forward. Life is full of tests and learning to "walk" and it is so awesome to know that our Heavenly Father knows what is best for us along the way. When we stumble we have a great Savior to help us up and get us back on the right path.

"Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen." Jude 24-25
