4 months old!!

Lily will be 4 months old on Tuesday. I just can't believe how the time has flown by and I have to say....I don't want her to grow up. I am really enjoying this stage/age. She is so much fun and just as sweet as she can be. I'll probably say that about every stage of her life....well, until she hits the teenage years, right? My friend Kristi would probably say it would be good to skip the "terrible 2's."

We had a doctor's appointment on Friday and she had 4 MORE SHOTS....I think I'm traumatized from these shots. It breaks my heart to see her cry like that. Anyway, she is doing great and growing like a weed. She is now 27 inches long and weighs 15 lbs. 6 oz. The doctor said that she is definitely beginning the teething process so that should be fun. She gave us the go ahead on starting on solid foods - rice cereal and stage 1 baby food.

So.....when my mom came over for a visit on Saturday we decided to give her some rice cereal. It was so cute seeing her gobble up real food. But it wasn't so cute when she was screaming in pain a few hours later. When we were mixing the food, the directions said 1 tbsp. of cereal to 4 tbsp. of breastmilk but it was so thin so me being the complete dummy that I am....kept adding cereal to thicken it up. WRONG thing to do. Of course I didn't know this until I did a little research online later that night when she was crying like I've never heard her cry before. I should have only fed her a couple of bites of food for the first time. Who knows how much she actually ate!! It was MUCH more than a couple of bites. I think we are going to stick with breastmilk for the next month or so. But other than that episode we had a great Valentine's weekend. Here are a few pictures from the past week -

Our sweet Valentine baby
we met a couple of friends at the park last week - it was a blustery day (that's a word, right?)
Our sunshine girl

Don't you want to kiss those sweet cheeks?!
She was sleeping until Nana came to see her and then it was time to play

27 inches - isn't she tall!
Nana was the first one to feed her
This was after the meal and before the screaming began :-(

Yep...it's 6 months. And I can remember when I got it from y'all I thought "man, she won't be wearing this for awhile b/c it looked so big." Well, she is SO BIG. It takes a big package to hold all that sweetness!! Miss you, too. I want to plan a time to come visit you. (just me and Lily)
